Terms and Conditions | Priveo Yachts
Last updated:
These terms and conditions govern every charter enquiry and booking made through priveoyachts.com, operated under the brand Priveo Yachts. They apply to day charters and longer charters booked in any of the 22 cities we serve across France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, Spain and the United Arab Emirates, and they sit alongside the written quote and written confirmation you receive for your specific charter.
By sending an enquiry, accepting a quote or boarding a yacht booked through our site, the client accepts these terms. Where a term in the written confirmation differs from these terms for a specific charter, the written confirmation prevails for that charter.

Scope and who we are
Priveo Yachts operates priveoyachts.com as a single point of contact for yacht and boat charters delivered by local charter partners in each destination city. We list 102 yachts, ranging from day-boats and sport-yachts to catamarans and superyachts, with day rates from €1,700, and we arrange both crewed day charters and longer charters.
We present and curate the fleet, handle enquiries and quotes, and confirm bookings on behalf of the local partner who physically operates the vessel in the chosen city. Unlike mass-market booking platforms, we do not simply list availability: every yacht, crew and itinerary offered through Priveo Yachts is matched to the guest's stated preferences before a quote is issued. These terms apply to that enquiry, quotation and booking process, regardless of which destination or partner performs the charter.
How an enquiry becomes a confirmed booking
A charter does not exist until it has been confirmed in writing. The process always runs as follows:
- the client submits the enquiry form (name, email, optional phone, optional chosen yacht, start and finish location, charter dates, number of guests and a free-text message) or contacts us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp;
- we review the request and reply with a written quote stating the yacht, itinerary, dates, price and any extras;
- the booking is confirmed only once the client accepts the quote in writing and, where required, the deposit or payment described below has been received.
No booking is made, and no yacht is held, on the strength of an enquiry alone. Prices and availability quoted verbally are indicative until confirmed in writing.
Prices and what is included
The price stated in the written quote is the full charter price for the yacht, crew and itinerary described in that quote. No amount is added to the agreed price that was not already stated in the quote.
Fuel, marina and port fees, the advance provisioning allowance (APA) applicable on larger yachts, catering and any other extras are charged separately only where they are expressly listed in the written quote. Where an APA applies, it is used to cover on-board consumption during the charter and is settled against actual expenses incurred, as described in the quote for that yacht.
Payment, deposit and the right of withdrawal
A booking is confirmed once full payment has been received for day charters, or once a 50% deposit has been received for charters of two days or more. The balance for longer charters, and any extras agreed in the quote, are payable as set out in the written confirmation for that charter.
Because a charter is a leisure service performed on a specific date, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under Directive 2011/83/EU does not apply, as that directive expressly excludes leisure services tied to a specific date or period (Article 16(l)). In place of a statutory withdrawal right, we apply the voluntary cancellation policy set out below, which gives clients a clear and predictable path to a full or partial refund depending on how far in advance they cancel.
Cancellation and changes by the client
Clients may cancel a confirmed booking at any time by notifying us in writing. The refund due depends solely on how much notice is given before the scheduled departure:
- more than 7 days before departure: full refund;
- between 48 hours and 7 days before departure: 50% refund;
- less than 48 hours before departure: no refund.
Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days to the original payment method. Requests to change the date, yacht or itinerary of a confirmed booking are treated as a new enquiry and are subject to availability and, where applicable, a revised written quote; they are not a right and do not by themselves cancel the original booking unless we confirm otherwise in writing.
Cancellation by us, weather and force majeure
If the captain or the relevant port authority considers that weather or sea conditions make departure unsafe, or if a technical issue with the yacht prevents the charter from going ahead safely, the client is offered a choice between a free new date and a full refund. The captain's assessment of safety is final and is not open to negotiation by the client or the crew.
Where a charter cannot proceed because of force majeure affecting the destination or the vessel, the same choice of a free new date or a full refund applies. We will notify the client in writing as soon as we are informed by the local partner, and we will not charge any amount beyond what has already been paid for the cancelled charter.
Guest capacity, safety rules and the captain's authority
The number of guests on board may never exceed the vessel's licensed capacity as stated in the quote and confirmation. The crew may refuse boarding to any guest whose presence, conduct or condition would put the safety of persons on board at risk, including where the declared number of guests is exceeded on the day.
Once on board, the captain has full authority over the safe operation of the yacht, the route actually sailed, mooring and anchoring decisions, and the timing of departure and return. This authority extends to interrupting or curtailing the itinerary announced in the quote where the captain judges it necessary for safety, in which case the weather and safety policy above applies.
Itinerary, conduct on board, damage and personal belongings
The itinerary set out in the written quote is the intended route for the charter; it may be adjusted by the captain to reflect weather, sea state, port restrictions or guest requests communicated during the charter, within the limits of what is safely achievable in the time booked.
Guests are expected to follow the crew's instructions on safety, equipment use and on-board conduct at all times. The client is responsible for damage to the yacht, its equipment or tenders caused by the deliberate or negligent act of any guest in their party, and such damage will be charged in addition to the charter price on the basis documented by the local partner.
Personal belongings brought on board remain the sole responsibility of each guest. We and the local partner are not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of personal items left on board or ashore during the charter.
Liability limits and complaints
The yacht and crew are provided by the local partner in the destination city, and the charter itself is performed under that partner's operating standards and insurance arrangements. Our liability, and that of the local partner, for any claim arising out of a charter is limited to the price actually paid for that charter, except for death or personal injury caused by proven negligence, for which liability is not limited.
Any complaint about a charter should be sent in writing to [email protected] as soon as possible after the charter, with the booking reference and a description of the issue, so that we can review it with the local partner and respond with our findings.
Website use, governing law and changes to these terms
The content, descriptions, photographs and fleet listings on priveoyachts.com are provided to inform enquiries and quotes; they may not be copied or reused for commercial purposes without our written consent. Visitors must use the enquiry form and WhatsApp contact options for genuine charter enquiries only.
These terms, and any charter booked through priveoyachts.com, are governed by the law of the country in which the charter is actually performed, being one of France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, Spain or the United Arab Emirates depending on the destination chosen. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be submitted to the courts having jurisdiction over that destination under its own law.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect how we operate; the version published on priveoyachts.com at the time a quote is issued applies to that booking. Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
