Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This Cookie Policy explains how priveoyachts.com, operated under the brand Priveo Yachts, uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you browse our site to enquire about crewed day charters and longer charters in our destinations across France, Greece, Italy, Monaco, Portugal, Spain and the United Arab Emirates.
It applies to every visitor of the site, whether you are comparing yachts, filling in an enquiry form or tapping a WhatsApp button to reach us. For any question about this page, write to [email protected].
Storage used on this site
- Cookie notice preference
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice. Local storage. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected yacht reference
- Remembers which yacht you clicked so the enquiry form can be prefilled with it. Session storage. Deleted when the tab is closed or the form is sent.
- Visit identifiers
- Random visitor and session identifiers used by our own visit measurement script, served from our own domain. Local storage. Expires 30 days after your last visit; can be cleared at any time in your browser.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device to recognise your browser on later visits. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way: they are small pieces of data kept by your browser rather than sent automatically with every request, and they can be read only by the site that created them.
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), as implemented in the law of each EU country, storing or reading this kind of data on your device generally requires your consent, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for.
Does Priveo Yachts set cookies or use trackers?
No. The website itself does not set any cookies, and we do not install third-party analytics, advertising or social-media trackers of any kind. There are no pixels, no advertising identifiers and no cross-site tracking on priveoyachts.com.
How do we measure visits without cookies?
We count visits with our own script, served from our own domain rather than from a third party. It records the pages viewed, time spent on each page, the referring website, campaign parameters present in the link such as UTM tags or an ad click identifier, device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language and the country derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
When you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so that we know which channel brought the enquiry. This measurement relies on the local-storage identifiers described in the table above, which hold random visitor and session identifiers and expire automatically 30 days after your last visit. Because this measurement is served from our own domain and shares nothing with outside analytics providers, we treat it as part of operating the site rather than as a third-party tracker.
What else is stored in your browser?
Two further entries are kept locally on your device, both described in the table above: one remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, and one remembers which yacht you clicked on our site so that the enquiry form can be prefilled for you; it is removed as soon as the tab is closed or the form is submitted. Neither entry contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail.
What third-party requests occur on this site, and what about WhatsApp?
A small number of resources are loaded from outside providers to make the site work, and each of these requests reveals your IP address to the provider concerned, in the same way as any request made over the internet:
- Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, operated by Google.
- The phone-number field in our enquiry forms uses the intl-tel-input library, loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network.
- The destinations map on our homepage loads the Leaflet library from unpkg.com and map tiles from CARTO, based on OpenStreetMap data.
None of these providers sets a cookie on your device for our account, and none of them receives the content of your enquiry.
WhatsApp buttons on the site do not set anything on priveoyachts.com before you click them. When you tap one, we record the click, together with the page URL, referrer, language and the prefilled message text, in our own booking system, and the button then opens WhatsApp. The conversation that follows takes place on WhatsApp, operated by Meta, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which is separate from this page.
How can you control storage, and what happens if this changes?
Because we set no cookies of our own, there is no cookie consent choice to make on this site beyond acknowledging the notice. You can still view, block or delete any local storage or session storage held by your browser at any time, through your browser's settings, and you can disable or clear storage for third-party providers such as Google, jsDelivr, unpkg.com or CARTO in the same way; doing so may affect how the phone field or the map display.
We may update this Cookie Policy if the site changes. If we ever introduce a cookie or storage technology that is not strictly necessary, such as one used for marketing or advertising, we will ask for your consent beforehand through a cookie notice offering a genuine choice.
For any question about this page, or to exercise a request about data linked to your visit, write to [email protected]; we answer within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your EU country of residence.
