About this yacht

Onboard the Extra 86

At 26 metres, Extra 86 wears her length lightly. The aft deck opens straight onto the water, and her fold-out terraces extend the swim platform into an informal lounge the moment the anchor goes down, closing the usual gap between sundeck and sea. Meals move outdoors easily too, with the al-fresco dining area set just steps from the terraces, so guests slide between shade, table and water without much thought given to logistics.

She reads as a family boat as much as a couples' one: enough deck to spread out, enough separation between the lounging areas and the dining table that a lunch can run long without disturbing anyone who would rather be in the water. Along a Mediterranean coastline of short hops between bays, that layout matters more than raw size — Extra 86 is built for guests who want to swim, eat and sit still, in that order, rather than tour a coastline from the flybridge.

Four cabins sleep up to twelve guests, a configuration that suits one family across two generations or a small group of couples sharing a week together. Cruising at close to 22 knots, she covers more ground in an afternoon than most yachts her size, so a second bay for lunch and a return to a quieter anchorage for the evening are both realistic in the same day. Running costs and consumables are quoted apart from the daily rate, so guests know from the outset what the figure in front of them actually covers.
